How to write a gift note (with 20 lines you can borrow)

1 min read

A gift note doesn’t need to be long. It needs to sound like you. Here is a simple three-step formula, plus lines you can borrow when the blank card stares back.

The three-step formula

  1. Name the moment. “Happy birthday”, “Congratulations on the new home”, “Thank you for last week”.
  2. Say why you chose it. “I saw this and thought of our walks by the sea.”
  3. End with a wish. “May this year be as kind to you as you are to everyone else.”

Birthdays

  • Another year of you is the best news the world got today.
  • For the person who makes every room warmer. Happy birthday.
  • Here’s to the adventures we haven’t had yet.
  • Older, wiser and still the funniest person I know.
  • A little world under glass, for the one who carries mine.

Thank you

  • You showed up when it mattered. Thank you.
  • Small gift, big thank-you.
  • For all the things you did that nobody saw.
  • I couldn’t have done it without you, and I wouldn’t want to.
  • Thank you for making it feel easy.

Just because

  • No reason. Just you.
  • Saw this, thought of you, couldn’t resist.
  • A reminder that you are loved on an ordinary day.
  • For your next slow evening.
  • Because you deserve something lovely.

For far-away people

  • The distance is long, but this hug travelled the whole way.
  • Open this and imagine I’m there.
  • Same sky, different time zones. Missing you.
  • Until the next time we’re in the same room.
  • Sending a little piece of home.

When you order, add your message in the “Gift message” field in your bag and we’ll put it on a card.
